RED ROCK DOOR AND DESIGN CO. LIMITED WARRANTY
Doors manufactured by RRD&D are warranted for one year from the date of shipment to be of good material and workmanship and at the time of shipment free of defects that would render them unfit for ordinary recommended purposes. Should a RRD&D stile and rail door fail to conform to this written warranty, RRD&D will, at its option either repair the door, ship a replacement door to the customer or person making the claim in the same condition as the original door which RRD&D originally sold to the customer, or refund the original purchase price paid to RRD&D for such door. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED HEREIN, RRD&D SHALL NOT PAY FOR THE COST OF LABOR, INSTALLATION OR FINISHING OF THE REPLACEMENT OR ORIGINAL DOOR, OR FOR ANY OTHER COST RELATING TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DOOR, ALL OF WHICH SHALL BE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PERSON MAKING THE WARRANTY CLAIM.
THE FOLLWING SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED DEFECTS IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP AND ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY:
- Wood doors are susceptible to expansion and contraction caused by temperature and humidity variations. Small surface checking or cupping which may cause tiny cracks at the joints may occur under certain conditions. These deviations are not considered flaws. Most doors are shipped unsealed and unfinished and the natural characteristics of wood movement cannot be warranted against;
- Any door wider than 42" or taller than 96";
- Warp for any nominal 1 3/8" thick by 36" wide by 84" high or smaller door, not exceeding 1/4" in the plane of the door. Warp for any nominal 1 3/4" thick door greater than 36" wide by 84" high, not exceeding 3/8" in the plane of the door.
- Doors which are not properly stored before prehanging, finishing, and/or installing. Doors must be stored stacked flat, off of the ground on a pallet or otherwise, and must be stored in a climate controlled building. Doors which are stored in an open-air construction area, without exterior walls, doors, and/or windows will void the warranty. (please note that a home that is being sheetrocked and mudded will have a very high humidity level which will affect unfinished doors).
- Doors that have not had all edges, especially top and bottom, sealed immediately after fitting and hanging (finishing must be done within 14 days of receipt of doors). And any condition arising from the neglect or failure to properly finish & maintain the door on all these edges (receipt or invoice from finisher showing date will be required for warranty to be valid);
- Natural variations in the color or texture of the wood;
- Damage caused by others or by a cause beyond the control of RRD&D, including but not limited to damage caused by improper storage, misuse, abuse, accident, mishandling or by fire, flood, earthquake, storm, tornado or other acts of nature;
- Panel shrinkage;
- Doors under 1 3/4" thick, used in an exterior application;
- Knots in doors classified as knotty doors;
- Small knots in Alder doors (these doors are often referred to as Select Alder);
- Doors which are improperly hung;
- Doors which are exposed to direct sun light, and rain, and not protected by substantial overhang and exposed to extreme weather conditions;
- Any door with "solid stiles (stiles not laminated).
- Any glass broken in shipment across state lines.
- Prefinished doors will not be warrantied for finish when shipped, although the normal warranty still applies for the doors themselves. A touch up kit can be provided for prefinished doors.
- Jambs which have been ordered as "knock down jambs" meaning that the doors have been prehung and the jambs have been taken apart to lay flat for shipping. Red Rock cannot assume liability for correctly and accurately reassembling the jambs.
- Damages incurred during shipping if the customer fails to look over the doors with the driver of the freight carrier to inspect the shipment, and notify driver of said damages at time of delivery.
